Deadline for Analog Cut Off Not Likely To Change
We got a call today relating that some local electronics retailers have been telling people looking to buy DTV converters that the deadline of February 17, 2009 had been extended. We have no information that this is true and do not expect the deadline for the analog cut off to change.
If anyone hears the same from any retailer, please post a comment here so we can follow up.
CET is dedicated to making sure that the only “snow” you see on February 18, 2009 is on the ground and not on your TV screen.

I’m part of the crew on a local call-in program at a tv station where I got a call from a viewer that checked with Best Buy, Circuit City, and Radio Shack to find a DTV converter box, and she said that all three stores had no clue what she was talking about…

This is not the first time I have heard that the sales force was clueless about DTV converters. Think about it…do you want to sell at $50 converter or a $3000 digital TV set? Last time I was at a Best Buy store I found the stack of converters hidden on the bottom shelf in the back corner of the store next to the “open box specials.”
Thanks for the comment
